Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily site activities related to civil works.
- Allocate work to skilled and unskilled labor and ensure optimum utilization of manpower and resources.
- Read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, method statements, and work schedules.
- Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with approved drawings, project specifications, and quality standards.
- Monitor work progress and report daily activities, productivity, and site issues to the Site Engineer or Project Engineer.
- Coordinate with engineers, subcontractors, suppliers, and other trades to ensure smooth execution of work.
- Verify site measurements and ensure proper setting out before commencement of activities.
- Monitor material requirements and coordinate with store and procurement team for timely availability.
- Inspect workmanship and identify defects or non conformities, ensuring corrective actions are implemented.
- Enforce health, safety, and environmental regulations and ensure use of PPE.
- Conduct toolbox talks and maintain discipline among the workforce.
- Maintain records of manpower attendance, daily progress, material consumption, and equipment usage.
Requirements
- Experience in supervising civil construction works including structural, masonry, plastering, finishing, and external works.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and method statements.
- Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations on construction sites.
- Strong communication and coordination skills with engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Experience in conducting toolbox talks and maintaining workforce discipline.
