Role Description
The Civil Engineering Manager will oversee civil and infrastructure-related aspects of facilities, utilities, and site development associated with the company’s manufacturing operations.
This part-time, remote role involves planning and managing civil works projects, coordinating with internal teams and external consultants, and ensuring compliance with relevant codes and standards.
The Civil Engineering Manager will review and approve designs, drawings, and specifications; monitor project progress; and provide technical guidance on structural layout, drainage, and site improvements.
Day-to-day responsibilities include performing or coordinating virtual inspections and assessments, preparing technical reports, optimizing stormwater and utility systems, and recommending improvements to enhance safety, efficiency, and resilience of company infrastructure.
The role also involves mentoring team members on best practices in civil engineering, risk mitigation, and sustainable design.
Qualifications
- Strong project delivery capabilities, including Project Management and Infrastructure planning skills to oversee multiple civil initiatives from concept through completion.
- Demonstrated expertise in Stormwater Management, including drainage design, runoff analysis, and compliance with applicable environmental and local regulations.
- Proficiency in field and remote Inspection practices, quality assurance, and documentation to ensure civil works meet safety, quality, and code requirements.
- Proven Team Leadership abilities to coordinate cross-functional stakeholders, guide junior staff, and collaborate effectively with contractors and consultants.
- Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Civil Engineering or a closely related discipline from an accredited institution.
- Professional engineering licensure or eligibility (where applicable) is highly desirable.
- Experience with manufacturing or industrial facilities, including foundations, site grading, roads, and utility coordination, is a strong advantage.
- Working knowledge of relevant design codes and standards (e.g., structural, drainage, and safety standards) and familiarity with civil design and CAD tools.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear reports, drawings comments, and technical recommendations in a remote setting.
- Ability to work independently, manage part-time hours effectively
