Responsibilities
- Intern responsibilities may include:
- Apply engineering principles to real-world transportation projects through the development of design and construction documents.
- Perform basic engineering calculations and support technical analyses using industry-standard software and engineering tools.
- Conduct field inspections to assess existing conditions and support project planning, design, and construction activities.
- Collaborate with project teams by reviewing plans and drawings, verifying technical documentation, and providing engineering support throughout project delivery.
Compensation
- The anticipated hourly pay range for this position is $21.00 to $26.00 per hour , depending on education, experience, skills, and qualifications.
Education and Experience
Currently enrolled in an ABET-accredited undergraduate or graduate degree program in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
Demonstrated interest in civil or transportation engineering through applicable coursework, academic projects, extracurricular activities, research, or prior internship experience involving design, inspection, or construction.
Basic proficiency with Microsoft Excel or similar spreadsheet applications, engineering drawing interpretation, and technical report preparation.
Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and eager to learn, with strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Working knowledge of CADD software such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, or OpenRoads Designer.
