The Civil Engineer I supports the Land Development team in the planning, design, and delivery of residential, commercial, and mixed-use development projects. This role is responsible for preparing engineering designs, technical documents, and permit applications while collaborating with project teams, clients, and regulatory agencies. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, technically proficient, and eager to apply fundamental engineering principles to real-world land development projects.
Collaborate with project team members and clients on land development projects under the direction of senior staff.
Prepare preliminary and final site plans, engineering calculations, reports, permit applications, and supporting project documentation for review by senior staff.
Assist with due diligence efforts, including site analysis, zoning reviews, utility evaluations, engineer’s opinions of probable cost, and project scheduling.
Research and interpret local and state zoning ordinances, development regulations, and design standards.
Conduct site visits and field investigations as required.
Review survey data and existing site information, including legal descriptions, ALTA surveys, easement documents, and existing infrastructure conditions.
Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D and other engineering software to develop design plans and technical deliverables in accordance with company quality standards.

Respond to agency and client review comments by revising plans and supporting project resubmittals.
Assist senior staff with communication and coordination efforts involving clients, agencies, utility providers, and project stakeholders.
