Civil Construction Superintendent

You’ve spent enough time in heavy civil construction to understand how work actually gets built, not just how it looks on a schedule.

You can look at a set of drawings, walk a jobsite, talk with your foremen, and quickly understand what needs to happen next.

You’re comfortable making decisions when conditions change.

You know when to push production and when slowing down for ten minutes will save ten hours later.

You earn respect by knowing the work, communicating clearly, and holding yourself to the same standard you expect from your crew.

And when something goes wrong, you’re interested in solving the problem rather than finding someone to blame.

Your background will ideally include:

• Significant field experience in heavy civil construction
• Previous experience leading crews, foremen, and subcontractors
• Strong understanding of earthworks, grading, underground utilities, roadbuilding, or similar civil construction
• Ability to read and understand drawings, specifications, schedules, and project requirements
• Experience planning manpower, equipment, materials, and upcoming work
• Strong understanding of construction safety and quality requirements
• The ability to communicate effectively with both field personnel and project management

Experience delivering larger or technically challenging civil infrastructure projects, particularly involving major earthworks, highways, utilities, structures, industrial construction, or complex site development.

with GPS machine control, digital construction tools, survey technology, production tracking, and modern project management systems is also an asset.

You won’t be expected to build complicated projects without support.

You’ll work alongside experienced Project Managers, Foremen, Survey, Engineering, Safety, Equipment, and project support personnel who understand heavy civil construction.
