Role Description
The Chief Risk Officer is a part-time, remote role responsible for overseeing the organization’s overall risk framework.
The role ensures that key risks are identified, measured, and managed effectively.
Responsibilities
- Design and maintain enterprise risk management policies and conduct risk assessments across business functions.
- Present clear risk reports and recommendations to executive leadership.
- Monitor credit and market risk exposures and review financial performance for risk implications.
- Advise on controls to mitigate emerging risks.
- Collaborate with finance, operations, and product teams to embed risk awareness into strategic decisions, regulatory compliance, and long-term planning.
Qualifications
- Strong enterprise risk management skills, including risk framework design and implementation.
- Capabilities in credit risk management for assessing counterparties and portfolio exposures.
- Expertise in market risk, including monitoring market movements and stress testing.
- Solid finance knowledge for interpreting financial statements and supporting risk-adjusted decisions.
- Advanced analytical skills for data-driven risk analysis, modeling, and reporting.
- Prior senior risk leadership experience in financial services, fintech, or a related sector is highly beneficial.
- A relevant degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Risk Management, or a related field is mentioned.
- FRM, PRM, or CFA certification is a plus.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills are required.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment and maintain high ethical and professional standards is required.
