Chief Analyst

Key Responsibilities

• Lead comprehensive research coverage of the global data center market, including infrastructure, hardware, software, and emerging technologies.
• Contribute to, develop, and maintain authoritative market forecasts, sizing models, and competitive landscape analyses.
• Identify and analyse key trends shaping the data center industry, including hyperscale deployments, edge computing, sustainability initiatives, and AI infrastructure requirements.
• Present research at industry conferences, client briefings, webinars, and provide expert commentary to media and industry publications.
• Provide strategic consulting and advisory services for clients, offering insight on data center investment decisions, technology roadmaps, and market opportunities.
• Build and maintain client relationships, becoming a trusted advisor to these clients.
• Offer insight to our planning meetings, working closely with the Practice Leader and Research Directors to drive the direction and strategy of the team.
• Develop a customer-based point of view for new products and advisory services based on senior-level relationships.

Qualifications

• Over 10 years of professional experience in the data center ecosystem, either as an industry analyst or in the wider ecosystem.
• Solid technical understanding and insight into the data center ecosystem, and the ability to quickly form credible, distinctive, compelling, and original opinions on how aspects of these will evolve, and why.
• Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to synthesize complex ideas.
• Strong verbal communication and presentation skills, including a personable manner and the confidence to present to, engage with, and influence executives at the highest levels of the industry.
• The ability to build and enhance a profile with industry contacts and opinion formers.
• The ability to quickly and coherently identify and communicate critical issues impacting the commercial performance of Omdia’s vendor clients across the data center ecosystem.
• Experience of working with sales and marketing teams to identify and successfully capitalize on business development opportunities.
• A proven track record of managing a workload to ensure deadlines are met and client expectations are exceeded.
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally.
• Cultural awareness, as the role involves working with global clients and within a global virtual team environment.

• The salary range for this role is $170k - $190k based on experience.
