- P&L ownership. Own the India & Far East P&L number and report it to the Head of Finance on the Group calendar, independent of the regional General Manager.
- Close. Lead the monthly, quarterly and year-end close, delivering entity financial packs to the Group reporting calendar.
- Reporting and MIS. Prepare the region's Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Cash Flow and Statement of Equity, and the monthly MIS pack for the Head of Finance and Group CFO.
- One version of the truth. Act as an independent source of financial truth, cross-checking with the wider finance function and the Commercial Control Centre.
- General ledger. Maintain the general ledger and balance sheet for all entities in scope, with every account reconciled and substantiated.
- Internal controls. Maintain financial policies and the internal control framework and enforce segregation of duties across creation, review and approval.
- India statutory and tax. Own GST, TDS/TCS, corporate income tax, tax audit, transfer-pricing filings and MCA / ROC filings under the Companies Act and support the pending India entity merger.
- Regional compliance. Monitor Far East compliance with the Group tax advisors and oversee the Americas compliance delivered by the US-qualified Senior Accountant; raise a monthly compliance report.
- Audit. Support the annual statutory and Group audits, resolving auditor queries with tax advisors and banks.
- AP and AR ledgers. Hold the accounts payable and receivable ledgers within Finance for the region, overseeing invoicing, collections follow-up and head-office payment controls.
- Payment creation. Create the region's payments from the approved payment calendar and budget; Treasury arranges the funds and executes.
- Payroll. Oversee regional payroll, including leave salary, gratuity and final settlements, reviewing HR's payroll before disbursement.
- Banking and guarantees. Review bank guarantees, letters of credit and banking documents before submission, within the Group Bank Guarantee Procedure.
- Fixed assets and inventory. Maintain the fixed asset register with correct capitalization and depreciation and verify physical inventory against the books, investigating variances.
- Project Haya (Odoo). Co-own the finance design, testing, migration and go-live readiness for Odoo in the region, then run the close in Odoo and drive automation of accounting workflows.
- Intercompany. Own intercompany reconciliations and cross-charges in line with the Group transfer-pricing policies, keeping the chart of accounts consistent across the five units.
- Team. Supervise, mentor and develop the 2 India-based reportees, setting workflows and reviewing outputs.
- Education. Chartered Accountant (ICAI) preferred; ACCA, CPA, CMA or equivalent also considered. An oil & gas, EPC or projects background is a strong advantage.
- Experience. At least 10 years in accounting, including time as a Chief Accountant, in a multi-entity or multi-country group, with a demonstrated record of owning a full accounting cycle and a regional P&L, not supporting one.
- Technical depth. Strong command of the monthly close, IFRS reporting, and India statutory and tax (GST, TDS, income tax, transfer pricing, Companies Act / ROC). Familiarity with Far East reporting; the ability to supervise a US-qualified accountant delivering the Americas is an advantage.
- Systems. Strong ERP and Excel skills. Odoo experience or an appetite to work through a new ERP implementation, is a distinct advantage.
- Leadership readiness. Ready to own a regional P&L and lead a small team to a disciplined, timely reporting standard.
- Accurate and disciplined, with the judgement to get details and timing right every time.
- Trustworthy with controls and mandates, and comfortable enforcing segregation of duties.
- Organized and calm under deadline pressure across multiple entities and currencies.
- Clear and professional in English, with auditors, banks and stakeholders alike.
- Proactive and commercially sharp, the kind of person who brings the Head of Finance the solution, not just the problem.
