Job Summary
Al Mazra is seeking an experienced Chief Accountant to manage and oversee accounting and financial operations.
The role requires strong F&B industry experience, bilingual Arabic and English communication, and experience managing an accounting team.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise daily accounting department operations.
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, the general ledger, and bank reconciliations.
- Oversee month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Monitor F&B food costs, inventory, wastage, purchasing, and cost variances.
- Review outlet sales, POS transactions, and revenue reconciliations.
- Monitor cash flow, operating expenses, budgets, and financial performance.
- Prepare budgets, forecasts, variance analyses, and management reports.
- Ensure inventory valuation and reconciliation with physical stock records.
- Strengthen financial controls across restaurant and outlet operations.
- Coordinate with operations, procurement, stores, and auditors.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company financial policies.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- Minimum 5–7 years of accounting experience in the F&B or restaurant industry is mandatory.
- Previous experience as a Chief Accountant, Senior Accountant, or similar supervisory role.
- Fluency in Arabic and English is mandatory.
- Strong knowledge of F&B costing, inventory control, food cost analysis, POS reconciliation, and multi-outlet accounting.
- Strong knowledge of ERP or accounting systems; SAP experience is an advantage.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Strong leadership, analytical, problem-solving, attention-to-detail, and deadline-management skills.
- Qatar or GCC experience is preferred.
