Chemical Safety Manager

Emergency and Incident Management

• Develop spill prevention, containment, response, cleanup, emergency response, and chemical incident procedures.
• Coordinate responses to spills, leaks, fires, releases, exposures, and incompatible chemical reactions, including drills.
• Investigate incidents, exposures, spills, near misses, and unsafe conditions; lead root-cause analysis and corrective actions.

Compliance and Operations

• Ensure chemical waste and hazardous materials are identified, segregated, stored, transported, treated, and disposed of appropriately.
• Coordinate hazardous chemical transportation, packaging, labeling, documentation, and logistics controls.
• Monitor regulations and support inspections, audits, permitting, authorities, supplier assessments, and compliance registers.
• Incorporate chemical safety into projects, facility and equipment changes, process changes, contractor controls, and Management of Change reviews.

Training and Reporting

• Deliver training on chemical hazards, Safety Data Sheets, labeling, storage, PPE, spill response, and emergency procedures.
• Maintain inventories, assessments, inspection reports, training records, incidents, corrective actions, dashboards, and management reports.
• Evaluate safety technologies and digital inventory solutions while promoting risk reduction, waste minimization, and continuous improvement.

Ideal Candidate

• Strong experience in chemical safety, process safety, EHS, occupational hygiene, hazardous materials management, laboratory safety, chemical manufacturing, industrial operations, or environmental health and safety.
• Knowledge of chemical hazards, toxicology, exposure pathways, classification, labeling, Safety Data Sheets, storage, handling, disposal, and risk controls.
• Experience with exposure monitoring, chemical waste, incident investigation, emergency response, regulatory compliance, supplier coordination, and Management of Change.
• Strong analytical, documentation, reporting, communication, training, organizational, and operational influencing skills.
• Professional certification in EHS, industrial hygiene, chemical safety, or a related discipline is highly desirable.
• Experience with international and distributed teams is highly desirable.
