Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and present Italian dishes in accordance with Lavista’s standards for quality, taste, and appearance.
- Oversee food preparation, manage kitchen staff, and maintain inventory and ordering supplies.
- Ensure proper food safety and hygiene, and coordinate with front of house teams for timely service.
- Develop and refine menu items, adjust recipes based on seasonal ingredients, and monitor portion control and cost efficiency.
- Provide hands on leadership in the kitchen and actively participate in service.
- Maintain cleanliness and equipment maintenance.
Requirements
- Strong experience in Italian cuisine, including pasta, sauces, seafood, and classic regional dishes.
- Proven background in professional kitchen operations, including food preparation, plating, and workflow organization.
- Knowledge of food safety, hygiene regulations, and best practices for kitchen cleanliness and sanitation.
- Ability to lead and mentor kitchen staff, delegate tasks effectively, and maintain a positive work environment.
- Competence in inventory management, cost control, and basic understanding of kitchen related purchasing and budgeting.
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
