Position summary
Lead digital design, thermal management, and aerodynamic or fluid optimization for advanced automotive engine and powertrain components.
Apply high-fidelity 3D numerical simulations to improve performance, reduce emissions, increase cooling efficiency, and accelerate product development.
Key responsibilities
- Set up, execute, and analyze 3D CFD simulations for engine and powertrain components such as combustion systems, manifolds, cooling jackets, turbochargers, and CHT systems.
- Perform transient and steady-state Conjugate Heat Transfer analyses for engine blocks and cylinder heads.
- Translate CFD findings into design recommendations and collaborate with CAD teams on powertrain geometry iterations.
- Develop CFD workflows, automated meshing methods, turbulence modeling strategies, and 1D–3D co-simulation pipelines.
- Correlate simulations with dynamometer, flow bench, and thermal imaging data.
- Partner with thermal, structural, systems engineering, and emissions teams to resolve performance and integrity trade-offs.
Qualifications and requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Thermal Sciences, or a related discipline.
- 3–7+ years of dedicated CFD experience in automotive, heavy-duty, or aerospace powertrain systems.
