Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) to lead the dietary department of our Skilled Nursing Facility. The ideal candidate will be a strong leader with a deep understanding of long-term care regulations, clinical nutrition coordination, food safety standards, and team development.
This role is responsible for ensuring high-quality meal service, regulatory compliance, sanitation standards, therapeutic diet accuracy, and overall resident satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations of the dietary department in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations
- Ensure compliance with CMS, state survey requirements, and sanitation standards
- Coordinate closely with Registered Dietitian, Nursing, and Administration regarding resident nutritional needs
- Ensure accuracy of therapeutic diets, meal delivery systems, and tray line processes
- Maintain kitchen sanitation and food safety standards (ServSafe guidelines)
- Manage food ordering, inventory control, and budget adherence
- Supervise, schedule, and train dietary staff
- Participate in care plan meetings as needed
- Prepare for and successfully navigate state and federal surveys
- Maintain documentation, temperature logs, cleaning schedules, and production records
Qualifications
- Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) credential required
- ServSafe Certification required
- Prior experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility or Long-Term Care setting preferred
- Strong knowledge of state and federal dietary regulations in long-term care
- Experience managing staff and department budgets
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams
