CDL Driver Instructor - FT

Position Summary

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• As a faculty member, fulfills all the functions and responsibilities of teaching the assigned course load as directed by the Dean.
• Demonstrates excellent teaching qualities and sets a positive example for other faculty regarding appropriate dress, class preparation, punctuality, student assessment, and a student-centered approach to classroom instruction.
• Serves as a subject matter expert for students and instructional staff.
• Prepares students for success and meets the requirements of the Department of Driver Services & FMCSA ELDT regulations.
• Monitors attendance and ensures daily attendance sign-in sheets are accurate and turned in at a timely manner to the Education Manager.
• Assists the Dean with the training and development of faculty
• Monitors range/road equipment and ensures student safety, and immediately documents and reports safety concerns to the Dean and Campus President
• Adheres to and supports school policies and procedures as referenced in the employee handbook, faculty handbook, and catalog.
• Keeps informed of industry changes through participation in industry events and regular involvement in professional organizations.
• Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
• Teaches classroom, range, and road courses as scheduled.
• Meets with/ advises students and inputs comments into Student Driving Records.
