Job Summary
The Category manager - Protein is responsible for managing and supporting the growth of the protein product portfolio in Riyadh KSA.
The role focuses on product development, supplier relationship management, category performance monitoring, and alignment with sales and marketing strategies.
The objective is to drive category profitability, ensure consistent product quality, and meet customer demands in line with Bidfood Middle East’s standards.
Core Task & Responsibilities
- Execute strategic plans for the protein category.
- Provide comprehensive training sessions to the sales team focusing on beef products and their unique selling points.
- Maintain efficient stock control systems, ensuring optimal inventory levels to meet market demands.
- Conduct in-depth market insights analysis to identify trends and opportunities for growth.
- Deliver market support to the sales team, enabling them to achieve targets and improve customer engagement.
- Monitor category performance and propose enhancements to improve market share.
- Build and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure high-quality, competitive products.
- Source new protein products based on customer needs and trends.
- Ensure all protein products meet regulatory and company standards.
- Work with quality and operations teams to address product issues or concerns.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in food science, Business, Supply Chain, or a related field.
- 3–5 years of experience in protein category management or food service procurement.
- Proven expertise and in-depth knowledge of beef products and the meat industry.
- Experience in conducting training sessions and presentations to a sales team effectively.
- Strong skills in stock management and a proactive approach to inventory challenges.
- Ability to analyze market data and translate insights into actionable strategies.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate across diverse teams.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and category performance tools.
