Dauphin County Department of Mental Health, Autism, and Developmental Programs is currently accepting applications for the full-time, second shift (3 PM- 11 PM) Caseworker 2 position.
Existing Crisis Intervention Program Caseworker employees can apply based on their current status.
Due to departmental needs, staff may be required to work different shifts than their assigned shift, including nights and weekends.
The Caseworker 2 provides immediate response to a wide variety of life crisis situations for individuals in Dauphin County within a 24-hour emergency Crisis Intervention program.
The Caseworker 2 employs casework skills to obtain essential information, provides counseling for consumers and members of their families, and helps them to utilize all available resources.
Work also involves the application of problem-solving techniques, providing counseling to maximize service delivery and to achieve service plan goals, monitoring consumer behavior, and interacting with agencies which make up the local service network.
Work is performed in accordance with established regulations, policies, and procedures.
The Caseworker 2 exercises initiative and judgement in discharging their duties.
Work is reviewed by a professional social service or administrative supervisor through regularly scheduled individual and group conferences and the review of case records and reports.
The second shift (3 PM-11 PM) offers a potential $.70 shift differential.
This amount is subject to change.
In addition to the above stated hourly rate, this position may be subject to a retention bonus following one (1) full year of employment.
At the time of hire, a valid driver’s license and positive driving record, a favorable criminal background check, child abuse and FBI clearances, as well as favorable references are required.
The applicant must provide proof of a valid Pennsylvania driver’s license within 60 days from the date of hire.
An alternative form of identification will be accepted if you are not eligible to receive a Pennsylvania driver’s license under 67 PA.
Code § 83 and driving is not an essential function of the position.
