All LCSNW team members will contribute to our mission of partnering with individuals, families and communities for health, justice and hope. As a Case Manager with our Family Services team, this position will have direct contact with children, youth and their parents, case managers of voluntary agencies, and public schools in Oregon that are highly impacted by newly arrived refugee students (namely Multnomah, Washington, and Clackamas counties) and other educational programs to provide the necessary support to clients to achieve school success.

Work with clients to develop strengths-based service plans to identify barriers to self-sufficiency and outline the necessary steps to overcome these barriers including being the liaison between clients and schools, and other educational support services
Provide school orientation to students and parents, connect students to afterschool activities (including homework help) and summer programs, and conduct outreach activities to share information with school contacts on program services
Track and monitor student grades and attendance through regular contact with families and teachers’/school counselors.
Provide transportation for clients, including scheduling medical transportation or ensuring clients understand and have access to public transportation, to attend required appointments and ensure that language access is provided at these appointments
Coordinate needed services through referrals to refugee service providers including the Health Department, Employment Services, Social Security, DSHS and ESL providers
Ensure that clients are being served in a linguistically and culturally appropriate manner and provide education and advocacy when necessary
Maintain compliance with all relevant program/department requirements, including and not limited to adhering to all record-keeping and reporting requirements.
Model and encourage direct, professional communication among staff members and facilitate development of a positive staff support network.
Demonstrate awareness and sensitivity in the delivery of client services as it relates to the cultural and socioeconomic characteristics of the populations served.
Demonstrated strong cross-cultural communication skills and ability to build rapport and work effectively with teens from diverse backgrounds
High level of computer literacy is required. Be able to enter and retrieve data using computer systems, systems applications, cell phone applications, and other office equipment
Be able to relate to and work with team members, and community partners from diverse backgrounds
Be able to multitask and prioritize the needs of clients and the program with competing deadlines
Experience working in child welfare, with immigrant and refugee populations, and/or with youth
Basic mastery of Google Suite and Microsoft 365 applications; and case management software
Uses a trauma-informed lens to navigate challenges, conflict and obstacles/barriers; demonstrates resilience, awareness and self-regulation
Successfully completes tasks in a moderately noisy environment
Moves equipment/materials weighing up to 10 pounds
May work in a variety of settings, including and not limited to LCSNW office locations, partner agency and community-based settings, client home/community settings, outdoor settings in varying weather conditions, and faith-based settings such as churches or mosques
Excellent communication skills with the ability to read, write, and speak in English.
Standard LCSNW criminal clearance, including national sex offender, motor vehicle records, valid Oregon driver’s license with clean driving record, and active auto insurance
