About The Role
The Buyer will support the Indirect Procurement function in the delivery of a cost‑effective, efficient and compliant supply of goods and services across the business. The role will work closely with internal stakeholders and suppliers to support sourcing activity, supplier management, contract administration, supplier onboarding, ESG compliance, invoice validation and cost control initiatives, whilst developing procurement capability and commercial understanding.

Principal Accountabilities
Support day‑to‑day purchasing activity across indirect spend categories and manage the shared mailbox
Lead sourcing exercises, including RFQs, supplier comparisons and cost analysis
Deliver cost down against an annual cost reduction plan and efficiency targets
Liaise with internal stakeholders to understand requirements and ensure a timely supply
Manage supplier onboarding, compliance documents and maintain accurate records in the document library
Negotiate and prepare contracts using templated terms & conditions
Lead supplier performance monitoring and Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) activities for allocated categories
Manage invoice queries and work with suppliers and Finance to resolve discrepancies
Ensure business wide compliance with procurement processes
Support use of systems and AI tools to improve efficiency and streamline procurement processes
Reduce Tail Spend and rationalise suppliers
Assist in the delivery of the Scope 3 Net Zero and EcoVadis workstreams to support GSF’s ESG strategy
Skills, Know How and Experience
- Strong IT skills including Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
- An interest in procurement and supply chain, with a desire to develop professionally
- CIPS qualification (Level 3 or 4) or working towards CIPS is desirable
- Experience in a purchasing, procurement or supply chain environment (preferred but not essential)
- Good numerical skills and analytical skills with attention to detail
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to organise workload, prioritise tasks and work to deadlines
- A proactive, positive attitude with a willingness to learn
- Ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and external suppliers
- A customer service mindset with a focus on continuous improvement
- Awareness of how systems, data and AI tools can be used to improve efficiency
