Role Overview
Act as a bridge between business needs, product direction, and technical delivery for the client platform.
Partner with business users, stakeholders, the Software Pod Product Owner, Technical Lead, developers, QA, and Project Manager.
A key focus is discovery of business needs, workflows, system behavior, impacted systems, data, dependencies, and edge cases.
Core Responsibilities
- Lead and support discovery activities for new features, enhancements, integrations, and business problems.
- Analyze current-state business processes, user workflows, system behavior, data flows, and integrations.
- Identify gaps, constraints, dependencies, edge cases, and opportunities for improvement.
- Translate business needs and Product Owner direction into functional and technical requirements, process flows, user stories, acceptance criteria, and documentation.
- Partner with the Software Pod Product Owner to refine requirements, clarify scope, identify open decisions, and align with product priorities.
- Partner with the Technical Lead and development team to define API and data requirements, identify technical dependencies, and resolve ambiguities.
- Create implementation-ready JIRA stories with business context, requirements, acceptance criteria, edge cases, dependencies, and technical context.
- Facilitate requirement and solution discussions and document decisions, assumptions, open questions, and follow-up actions.
- Validate proposed workflows and requirements with users and business stakeholders.
- Partner with QA and developers to define testable acceptance criteria and validate delivered functionality.
- Identify requirement gaps, conflicting expectations, data quality concerns, operational impacts, and delivery risks, and escalate them appropriately.
Experience Requirements
- At least 3–5 years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst, Systems Analyst, Technical Analyst, or in a similar role.
- Experience supporting data-intensive, analytical, or enterprise software products is preferred.
- Strong proficiency with JIRA and Confluence for requirements and decision documentation.
- Proficiency in SQL for data investigation, requirement validation, discrepancy troubleshooting, and understanding data models.
- Ability to document system interactions, data flows, dependencies, integration points, and current-state versus future-state behavior.
- Experience working with RESTful APIs and API documentation such as Swagger or OpenAPI.
- Experience creating process flows, sequence diagrams, data-flow diagrams, system context diagrams, or similar artifacts.
- Strong understanding of Agile and Scrum practices across discovery, backlog refinement, sprint execution, testing, and iterative delivery.
Technical Skills
- Required technical skills include JIRA, Confluence, SQL, RESTful APIs, Swagger/OpenAPI, process modeling, system and data analysis, and Agile delivery.
- Python exposure is an asset but is not required.
