The Business Systems Development Engineer will transform dealership operations by building, integrating, maintaining, and improving core software systems.
The role connects cloud technology, AI tools, and heavy equipment retail operations while reducing manual workflow bottlenecks.
Key Responsibilities
- Build secure data pipelines connecting Google Apps Script, Google Cloud tools, internal databases, and CDK Global or IntelliDealer platforms.
- Automate workflows across Google Sheets, Docs, Forms, and Gmail, and scale heavier workloads to Google Cloud Platform.
- Integrate OpenAI or ChatGPT APIs for data extraction, document summarization, and process triage.
- Audit automation pipelines, resolve bottlenecks, optimize code, and reduce synchronization timeouts and manual entry errors.
- Provision cloud infrastructure with AWS CDK, monitor errors and API rate limits, and maintain code for uptime.
- Create architecture maps, API guides, and user manuals, and support non-technical department managers.
Required Qualifications
- 1–4 years of professional software development, business systems engineering, or DevOps experience.
- Strong proficiency in JavaScript (ES6+) or TypeScript.
- Experience with Google Apps Script and Google Cloud Platform services such as Cloud Functions, Cloud Scheduler, or BigQuery.
- Understanding of RESTful APIs, JSON web services, and OAuth 2.0, plus experience integrating OpenAI or ChatGPT APIs.
- Experience or hands-on training with AWS CDK and consistent use of Git with cloud repositories.
- Strong analytical thinking, self-directed problem-solving, and collaboration with non-technical business leaders.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant computer science or software field, or equivalent practical experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with CDK Global, IntelliDealer, or heavy equipment, agricultural, commercial vehicle, or automotive retail operations.
- Working knowledge of SQL or BigQuery, Python or Node.js, and visualization tools such as Looker Studio or Power BI.
Compensation
- Pay is $80,000–$90,000 per year.
