Role Overview

The Business Systems Analyst manages functional and non-functional requirements from solicitation through solution implementation.
The role bridges business and technology domains through process, data and systems analysis.
Core Responsibilities
- Facilitate interviews and workshops to extract and document functional and non-functional requirements.
- Support Agile backlog refinement, sprint planning, prioritization, release planning and continuous delivery.
- Define system requirements and collaborate on solution design with architects, vendors, developers and QA analysts.
- Define API requirements, data contracts, integration specifications and data exchange processes.
- Document system interactions, integration workflows, interface specifications and data mappings.
- Coordinate QA activities, test planning, defect triage, business validation and production transition.
Required Qualifications
- BSc in Business Administration and/or Computer Science.
- 5+ years of progressive analyst experience in a software development environment.
- Strong health and wellness business knowledge and analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Strong facilitation, negotiation and stakeholder-management skills.
- Understanding of ETL processes, tools, practices and mapping specifications.
- Ability to communicate complex technical information to business and technical audiences.
- Ability to prioritize, multitask and work independently and collaboratively.
- Awareness of cybersecurity, data privacy and compliance frameworks in health and wellness technology.
Preferred Qualifications
- CBAP and/or Agile-related certifications such as PMI-ACP, SAFe Agilist or Agile BA.
- Experience in health benefits, wellness, disability management, insurance, healthcare or employee benefits.
Technical and Professional Skills
- Requirements management, process analysis, data analysis and systems analysis are central to the role.
- The role requires interface mapping and specification documents detailed enough for developers to implement.
- The role requires familiarity with security, privacy, compliance, APIs, integrations and data exchange standards.
Compensation
- Pay is $70,000–$90,000 per year.
