Role overview
The Business Systems Analyst works with Product Owners, Agile Delivery Managers, stakeholders, and technical teams to capture, analyse, and document business requirements.
The role translates business needs into functional specifications supporting the design, development, testing, and implementation of business applications and technology solutions.
The role bridges business requirements and technical delivery within an Agile software development environment.
Key responsibilities
- Elicit, analyse, and document requirements with Product Owners, stakeholders, and end users.
- Produce functional and non-functional specifications, user stories, process flows, acceptance criteria, and related analysis artefacts.
- Work with software engineers to align delivered solutions with requirements and business outcomes.
- Support testing through test scenarios, test cases, and quality assurance activities.
- Manage requirements-related risks, issues, and dependencies throughout delivery.
- Document current-state and future-state processes and facilitate business-technical communication.
- Support users with complex application and system issues and collaborate with software suppliers.
- Contribute to analysis best practices, process improvement, templates, and documentation standards.
