The role supports a Canadian bank's payments technology practice and modernization programs across payments infrastructure.
The team is modernizing core payment rails and messaging standards and needs an experienced analyst to bridge business stakeholders and technical delivery.
The position is hybrid in Toronto, Ontario, with three days per week onsite.
Responsibilities
- Lead analysis, documentation, and validation of business requirements while tracking decisions and changes end to end.
- Work with business, technology, and external partners to shape end-to-end solutions and translate business needs into functional requirements and user stories.
- Run cross-functional workshops to gather and refine requirements.
- Support payment-process design in line with industry and regulatory standards.
- Assist scrum masters and project managers with planning, scoping, and impact analysis.
- Perform gap analysis, root-cause reviews, and release-readiness checks for payment-system changes.
- Act as a payments subject-matter expert, track post-implementation performance, and support incident resolution.
- Coach and mentor junior team members and execute test cycles as needed.
Required Skills and Experience
- Strong background in business process mapping, requirements gathering, and systems analysis.
- Payments domain knowledge including MT format, MX/ISO 20022, and CBPR+.
- Ability to perform gap analysis across different payment standards.
- Comfort working in Agile teams.
- Proficiency with Jira, Confluence, and Microsoft Office.
- Strong stakeholder communication skills across technical and business audiences.
Nice to Have
- Fedwire or FED payments domain knowledge.
- Background in the banking or financial services industry.
