Role Description

  • The Owner at the Corcoran School of the Arts and Design is a full time, on site role based in Washington, DC.
  • Responsible for strategic leadership, vision, and stewardship of the school’s academic and creative mission.
  • Oversees day to day operations, including program development, resource allocation, and coordination with faculty, staff, and university leadership.
  • Guides the integration of arts education with broader liberal arts initiatives.
  • Cultivates partnerships with internal and external stakeholders, supporting faculty excellence and student success.
  • Promotes an inclusive, innovative learning environment.
  • Involves high level decision making related to budgeting, facilities, communications, and long term planning.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated leadership and management skills, including strategic planning, organizational oversight, and team development.
  • Experience in higher education, arts administration, or a closely related field.
  • Proven ability to build and sustain collaborative relationships with faculty, staff, students, and external partners.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility in arts and design education.
  • Background in arts, design, or liberal arts disciplines; advanced degree in a relevant field is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with budgeting, resource management, and operational decision making in complex organizations.
  • Capacity to support innovation, interdisciplinary collaboration, and student centered learning.
