Responsibilities
- Provide strategic support for marketing, business development, and client plans for practice, industry, and market groups
- Assist with execution of go to market strategies and targeting initiatives
- Lead or support business development initiatives including sponsorships, speaking engagements, and award submissions
- Compile and analyze competitive and business intelligence reports
- Support lawyer and Clients & Markets team with client requests for firm information
- Identify and submit significant matters to Deals & Cases team
- Track business development activity in databases including Salesforce
- Support Net Promoter Score (NPS) process
- Support Marketing Solutions team with various tasks
Requirements
- Undergraduate degree in marketing, communications, or related field
- Minimum 3 5 years relevant experience, preferably in a professional services firm
- Proficiency with MS Office suite
- Experience with Salesforce and SharePoint (asset)
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks
- Professional maturity, interpersonal skills, tact, and discretion
- Ability to work in a demanding, fast paced environment

Job Description
- McCarthy Tétrault is a leading Canadian law firm seeking a Business Development Specialist.
- The role is based in Toronto, Calgary, Montreal, or Vancouver with a hybrid work environment.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in a professional services firm required.
As a Business Development Specialist, you will be:
- Providing strategic support and recommendations for marketing, business development, and client plans.
- Assisting with execution of go to market strategies and targeting initiatives.
- Leading and/or supporting business development initiatives including sponsorships, speaking engagements, directory and client award submissions.
- Working with Research, Client Service & Innovation (CSI) and Finance to compile and analyze competitive and business intelligence reports.
- Supporting lawyer and Clients & Markets team with client requests for firm information.
- Identifying and submitting significant matters to the Deals & Cases team.
- Tracking business development and marketing activity in databases, including Salesforce.
- Supporting Net Promoter Score (NPS) process.
- Supporting the Marketing Solutions team with various tasks.
As our ideal candidate, you will distinguish yourself by the following profile:
- Undergraduate degree in marketing, communications or related field.
- Minimum 3 5 years relevant experience, preferably in a professional services firm.
- Proficiency with MS Office suite; ability to quickly learn new technology solutions.
- Experience with Salesforce and SharePoint an asset.
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
- Excellent organizational skills; ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Professional maturity including strong interpersonal skills, tact and discretion.
- Ability to work in a demanding, fast paced environment.
- Ability to be flexible and adaptable.
Salary Range
- Toronto or Vancouver: CAD 70,000 CAD 92,000 annually.
- Offered salary may vary based on candidate's job specific knowledge, skills, and experience.
