Role Overview
Business Development Manager supporting BEUMER Group’s Logistics Systems division.
The role focuses on customer growth, market presence, automation, logistics, and supply chain opportunities.
The position is based out of the North America Headquarters in Somerset, New Jersey.
Strategic Growth and Account Development
- Cultivate and expand existing customer relationships by understanding investment cycles, operational priorities, and long-term goals.
- Collaborate with Customer Support Sales to anticipate customer needs and identify expansion or enhancement opportunities.
- Build trusted-advisor relationships through active listening, insightful questions, and tailored solutions.
Prospecting and Opportunity Development
- Identify and engage potential customers through outbound tools and resources.
- Uncover customer pain points and align BEUMER’s value proposition with business goals.
- Qualify leads by assessing customer needs, timelines, stakeholders, and budget alignment.
- Advance opportunities through discovery, proposals, and pre-sales coordination.
Internal Collaboration and CRM
- Work with Marketing on outreach strategies, campaign messaging, and trade show planning.
- Use CRM systems to track activities, manage the pipeline, and maintain accurate customer records.
- Monitor and report opportunity conversion, activity, and forecast accuracy KPIs.
- Participate in strategic planning, sales reviews, and process improvement initiatives.
- Coordinate with systems engineering, sales leadership, and operations for smooth handoffs.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 2 years in business development, consultative sales, or account management, or 5+ years in customer-facing pre-sales or applications engineering within logistics or supply chain.
- In-depth knowledge of logistics systems within distribution centers.
- Ability to travel up to 30–50% of the time.
Skills and Experience
- Experience identifying and qualifying opportunities and building lasting customer relationships.
- Ability to align solutions with customer motivations and business goals.
- Comfort managing long sales cycles and multiple stakeholders.
- Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, collaboration, and business acumen skills.
- Proficiency with CRM systems, pipeline management, sales performance tracking, ROI, and total cost of ownership.
- Formal sales training is a plus but not required.
Compensation
- Compensation range is $120,000 to $130,000 annually.
- Actual compensation depends on multiple factors and will not be less than the posted minimum.
