Architectural & Engineering Consultancy Company – United Arab Emirates

1. Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Manager to lead growth initiatives for our engineering consultancy business across the UAE and GCC region.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience in architectural/engineering consultancy, construction, andrelated sectors, with a proven ability to generate new business opportunities, build strategic client relationships, and secure consultancy projects.

The role requires a commercially focused professional with strong market knowledge, excellent networking capabilities, and a successful track record in winning projects within the UAE market.

2. Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities in architectural and engineering consultancy, construction, and related sectors.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with developers, contractors, consultants, government authorities, and key stakeholders.
  • Generate leads through networking, market research, industry events, and client meetings.
  • Monitor upcoming projects, tenders, and market trends across the UAE and GCC.
  • Lead the full business development cycle including:
  • o Lead generation
  • o Client presentations
  • o Proposal preparation
  • o Negotiation
  • o Contract closing
  • Coordinate with technical and engineering teams to prepare technical and commercial proposals.
  • Manage client prequalification, vendor registrations, and tender submissions.
  • Maintain a healthy sales pipeline and prepare periodic sales forecasts and reports.
  • Represent the company at exhibitions, conferences, and industry networking events.
  • Support market positioning initiatives to strengthen company visibility.
  • Ensure achievement of revenue targets and business growth objectives.

3. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum 8–15 years of business development experience within engineering consultancy, construction, and design-build in the UAE.
  • Strong existing network with developers, consultants, contractors, and government entities in the UAE market.
  • Proven track record of securing engineering consultancy projects and achieving sales targets.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong understanding of UAE construction and engineering market dynamics.
  • Experience with tendering processes, proposal preparation, and contract negotiations.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple opportunities simultaneously.

4. Preferred Experience

Experience in one or more of the following sectors is preferred:

• Architecture, MEP, Civil & Structural Engineering

  • BIM Consultancy
  • Design-Build Consultancy

• Networking & Lead Generation

  • Commercial Awareness

6. KPIs and Performance Metrics

  • Revenue generation and project awards
  • Number of new clients acquired
  • Pipeline value and conversion ratio
  • Tender participation and success rate
  • Client retention and repeat business
