Role overview
Building Services Technician role maintaining facility infrastructure in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
The position supports safe, compliant, and operational systems across the warehouse, offices, welfare facilities, plant rooms, yard, and external areas.
The role is hands-on and includes fault finding, repairs, routine maintenance, inspections, and contractor support.
Key responsibilities
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance and reactive works across a large-scale warehouse site.
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical and mechanical building services, including power, lighting, heating, ventilation, and HVAC.
- Undertake multi-trade tasks such as basic fabric repairs and painting within qualifications and competency.
- Diagnose faults, perform testing, and complete effective repairs to minimise downtime.
- Complete work orders issued via CMMS systems.
- Update work orders, PPM logs, defect reports, handover notes, photos, check sheets, and service notes.
- Support engineers and contribute to larger maintenance activities and small-scale projects.
- Assist contractors with access, escorting, isolations, and handovers.
- Communicate work status, outstanding issues, parts requirements, and escalations to the Facilities Shift Manager.
- Maintain effective communication during shift handovers.
