About the Role
Sara Engineering & Energy seeks a Building Automation Engineer to design, program, test, and commission Building Automation Systems (BAS), Energy Management Systems, and smart building technologies.

Responsibilities
- Design and develop Building Automation System (BAS) architectures and control strategies
- Configure, program, test, and commission automation and control systems
- Integrate HVAC, lighting control, energy management, metering, and other building systems
- Review project specifications, drawings, sequences of operation, and technical requirements
- Prepare technical submittals, shop drawings, I/O schedules, points lists, and as built documentation
- Conduct site surveys and coordinate with project stakeholders
- Perform system testing, troubleshooting, diagnostics, and fault rectification
- Support project execution teams during installation, commissioning, and handover activities
- Configure and integrate communication protocols such as BACnet, Modbus, KNX, MQTT, OPC, and other industry standard protocols
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, local regulations, and industry standards
- Provide technical training and support to clients and facility management teams
- Coordinate with manufacturers and technology partners for technical support and advanced troubleshooting
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Electronics Engineering, Automation Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related field
- 0–3 years of experience in Building Automation Systems (BAS), Building Management Systems (BMS), Energy Management Systems (EMS), Industrial Automation, or related fields
- Knowledge of building automation, control systems, instrumentation, and smart building technologies
- Familiarity with one or more of the following systems: Building Management Systems (BMS), Energy Management Systems (EMS), Home Automation Systems (HAS), Guest Room Management Systems (GRMS), Lighting Control Systems, HVAC Controls, KNX Solutions
- Understanding of automation architectures, controllers, sensors, actuators, and field devices
- Knowledge of communication protocols such as BACnet, Modbus, KNX, DALI, OPC, MQTT, and TCP/IP networking
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, control drawings, and system architecture diagrams
- Experience with AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and engineering software tools
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Fluency in English is required; Arabic language skills are considered an advantage
- UAE/GCC experience is preferred but not mandatory

- Understanding of cybersecurity concepts related to smart buildings and connected systems.
- Experience in hospitality, commercial, healthcare, residential, and mixed use developments.
- Familiarity with project execution, testing & commissioning, and handover procedures.
- Knowledge of sustainability initiatives, energy efficiency, and green building standards.
