Broadcast Engineering Manager

Infrastructure, Security, and Resilience

• Integrate broadcast systems with enterprise networks, cloud platforms, streaming services, and digital workflows.
• Develop IP-based broadcast network architecture with redundancy, segmentation, monitoring, and security controls.
• Implement access controls, system hardening, patching, monitoring, backup, and recovery procedures.
• Develop business-continuity and disaster-recovery strategies, redundancy, failover mechanisms, and recovery objectives.
• Maintain incident, maintenance, equipment, configuration, service, network, licensing, and technical documentation.

Technology, Procurement, and Vendors

• Evaluate IP video, cloud broadcasting, remote production, software-defined infrastructure, AI-assisted production, virtual production, UHD/HDR, automation, and advanced media workflows.
• Develop technical specifications, tender requirements, evaluation criteria, business cases, and investment recommendations.
• Manage procurement, vendor selection, supplier relationships, service-level agreements, installations, commissioning, acceptance testing, and handover.

Candidate Profile

• Proven experience in broadcast engineering, media technology, television, radio, transmission, or a related field.
• Experience managing complex broadcast facilities, television networks, production environments, transmission operations, live-event infrastructure, or IP-based media systems is highly advantageous.
• Relevant degree in broadcast, electrical, electronics, telecommunications, computer engineering, information technology, or a related discipline.

Required Capabilities

• Strong knowledge of broadcast production, transmission, playout, contribution, distribution, media workflows, video, audio, RF, IP, networking, encoding, decoding, and signal distribution.
• Experience with broadcast automation, production systems, media servers, storage, monitoring, control rooms, and infrastructure upgrades.
• Strong troubleshooting, systems-integration, root-cause-analysis, project-management, vendor-management, procurement, communication, leadership, and stakeholder-management skills.
• Strong understanding of cybersecurity, network resilience, backup, and disaster recovery for broadcast environments.
• Ability to work independently in a fully remote management environment while coordinating with on-site technical teams.

Advantageous Capabilities

• Knowledge of SMPTE ST 2110, NMOS, PTP, and related IP-based broadcast architectures is advantageous.
• Professional certifications in broadcast technology, networking, project management, or relevant engineering disciplines are advantageous.
• Experience in the UAE or wider GCC media, telecommunications, or broadcast environment is highly desirable.
