Bookkeeper

Ernst & Company CPA Professional Corporation is a mid-sized public accounting firm in Ottawa.

Our firm continues to steadily grow in keeping with our commitment to our staff and the relationships that we develop with our clients.

We are seeking a bookkeeper to work at our office in the east end of Ottawa with various of our clients.

This full-time position would work with our clients to perform full cycle accounting duties and provide support, as required.

We offer an ongoing training and a group benefit package, in a supportive working environment.

· Full cycle bookkeeping from receipt and processing of source documents to year-end closing procedures

· Payroll processing and related reporting, as required

· Preparation of government returns, GST/HST, NR4, T4, T5, ROE, WSIB

· Accounts receivable, accounts payable and bank reconciliation procedures

· College Diploma in Bookkeeping or equivalent

· Minimum of 1 year of experience in full cycle bookkeeping in Canada

· Experience with use of QuickBooks Online is essential

· Working knowledge of legacy accounting software, such as Sage 50 / QuickBooks Desktop would be an asset

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word and Outlook

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English

· Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills

· Well organized and able to manage multiple tasks concurrently

· Ability to work independently or with limited supervision to meet deadlines

· Works well in a team environment
