ABIS is looking for a skilled Bolt Torque Lead Technician to oversee and manage all bolt tightening activities in our projects.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising bolt torque operations to ensure compliance with applicable standards and project specifications.
This role requires a strong understanding of bolting procedures, torque tools, and safety practices.
You will lead a team of technicians, provide training, and maintain accurate records of all torque operations.
Attention to detail and adherence to quality control standards are essential to prevent equipment failure and ensure the integrity of mechanical joints.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise bolt torque activities on site according to project requirements and standards
- Develop and implement bolting procedures and torque plans
- Coordinate with engineering and quality control teams to ensure compliance and resolve technical issues
- Inspect and certify bolted joints and torque tools for accuracy and safety
- Train and mentor junior technicians in bolting techniques and safety practices
- Maintain accurate documentation and reports of torqueing activities
- Ensure all bolting operations are completed safely, on time, and within budget
Requirements
- Minimum Diploma or equivalent technical qualification in Mechanical or related field
- 5+ years of experience in bolt torque activities, preferably in the oil and gas industry
- Strong knowledge of bolting tools, torque calculation, and tightening procedures
- Leadership experience with the ability to supervise and train a team
- Familiarity with relevant industry standards and safety regulations
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and challenging environment
