About the Role
ADAFSA seeks a Biosecurity Risk Assessment Specialist to assess and analyze biosecurity risks, implement plant and animal biosecurity initiatives, and strengthen the One Health system in Abu Dhabi.

Responsibilities
- Review biosecurity data collection, assess data quality, and suggest improvements
- Identify potential plant, animal, and fisheries risks and evaluate them based on scientific foundations
- Conduct periodic analysis of health data for animal and plant diseases and develop mitigation measures
- Study and identify trends in biosecurity risks and escalate critical matters to the National Biosecurity Committee
- Monitor supporting information via GIS related to biosecurity
- Assume responsibility for implementation and maintenance of ISO/IEC 17025 standard requirements
- Supervise and follow up on response to epidemiological and zoonotic disease notifications
- Review periodic reports of notifications and epidemiological outbreaks
- Establish, develop, and follow up on performance indicators for the Section
- Carry out actions related to raising data quality and data maturity level
- Update procedures and processes related to the work of the organizational unit
- Be aware of continuity management systems and business risk management system requirements
Requirements
- Bachelor of Animal Health Sciences or similar discipline
- Minimum 3 years of experience in the field
- Bilingual fluency in English and Arabic
- Supervisory skills

Job Purpose
- Assess and analyse biosecurity risks, activate and implement plant and animal biosecurity initiatives, and strengthen the One Health system.
