The Billing Coordinator helps coordinate insurance claim filings such as submissions, tracking, payment posting and allocation, and appeal of denials. This role also submits and tracks pre-authorizations and pre-determinations for treatments.
Generates patient statements and other invoices.
Works on data entry, posting payments, reconciling billings and invoices, checking balances and maintaining patient files.
Works with insurance companies to perform insurance billing, review, and verification of accounts in accordance with program provisions.
Verifies eligibility and benefits, obtaining pre-authorizations, entering medical codes, requesting payments, and resolving account issues.
May assist with other functions of revenue cycle operations.
May perform accounts receivable audits and adjustments.
May run reports related to medical billing.

This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.
