Responsibilities
- Pick up and deliver customs declarations, shipping documents, bills of lading, permits, and official correspondence
- Transport confidential or time sensitive materials such as inspection notices, duty payment receipts, and clearance certificates
- Obtain signatures, timestamps, and proof of delivery for all items transported
- Record detailed information including items received/delivered, recipient names, addresses, and delivery instructions
- Plan and follow the most efficient delivery routes across port complexes and customs zones
- Sort items according to delivery routes and adjust for traffic, weather, or urgent requests
- Use handheld devices, scanners, or apps to track deliveries in real time
- Operate cars, vans, or small trucks within port and customs areas
- Load and unload vehicles properly, taking precautions with fragile or sensitive documents
- Relay information between customs officers, port staff, and shipping agents
- Communicate delivery status via telephone, two way radio, or in person
- Check with dispatch or home offices after completed deliveries for further instructions

- Ability to navigate large industrial/port areas efficiently
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Basic computer/tech skills for logging deliveries

Job Overview
- We are looking for A Messenger for Customs and Port job environments is responsible for the secure, timely, and documented movement of physical items within and between customs facilities, port terminals, government offices, and shipping companies.
Core Responsibilities
- Pick up and deliver customs declarations, shipping documents, bills of lading, permits, and official correspondence between customs offices, port authorities, shipping agents, and freight forwarders.
- Transport confidential or time sensitive materials such as inspection notices, duty payment receipts, and clearance certificates.
- Deliver items between departments within a port authority or customs house, and to external business concerns.
- Obtain signatures, timestamps, and proof of delivery for all items transported.
- Record detailed information including items received/delivered, recipient names, addresses, and delivery instructions.
- Maintain clear ledgers and logs of inbound/outbound goods and documents.
- Plan and follow the most efficient delivery routes across port complexes and customs zones.
- Sort items according to delivery routes and adjust for traffic, weather, or urgent requests.
- Use handheld devices, scanners, or apps to track deliveries in real time.
- Operate cars, vans, or small trucks within port and customs areas (may require security clearances for restricted zones).
- Load and unload vehicles properly, taking precautions with fragile or sensitive documents.
- Relay information between customs officers, port staff, and shipping agents.
Required Skills & Qualifications
