Job Summary

  • The Beauty Therapist is responsible for providing safe, professional, and evidence based aesthetic and skincare treatments within the scope of a valid DHA or SHA license, facility approved clinical privileges, and UAE healthcare regulations.
  • The Beauty Therapist shall ensure excellent patient care, maintain the highest standards of hygiene and infection prevention, educate patients on treatment plans and aftercare, and work collaboratively with dermatologists, plastic surgeons, aesthetic physicians, and nursing staff.

Key Responsibilities Patient Assessment

  • Welcome patients professionally and maintain a patient centered environment.
  • Verify patient identity before every treatment.
  • Conduct skin consultation and basic skin analysis.
  • Review medical history, allergies, medications, previous cosmetic procedures, and contraindications.
  • Refer patients to the physician whenever assessment identifies medical concerns or conditions outside the Beauty Therapist's scope of practice.

Clinical Beauty Treatments

  • Perform professional facial treatments.
  • Deep cleansing facial procedures.
  • Hydrafacial treatments (where approved).
  • Microdermabrasion.
  • Superficial chemical peels within approved scope.
  • Cosmetic skincare treatments.
  • Cosmetic makeup application.
  • Eyebrow and eyelash services.
  • Waxing, threading, and other non permanent hair removal methods.
  • Skin hydration and rejuvenation treatments using approved non invasive technologies.
  • Other non invasive cosmetic treatments approved by the facility.

Patient Education

  • Explain treatment procedures, expected outcomes, risks, limitations, and post treatment care.
  • Provide written and verbal aftercare instructions.
  • Educate patients on skincare products, sun protection, and treatment maintenance.
  • Encourage realistic expectations regarding cosmetic outcomes.

Infection Prevention & Safety

  • Follow infection prevention and control policies at all times.
  • Prepare treatment rooms before and after every patient.
  • Sterilize and disinfect equipment according to facility protocols.
  • Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Report incidents, adverse reactions, and near misses immediately.

Documentation

  • Maintain accurate patient treatment records in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.
  • Document assessments, procedures performed, products used, treatment outcomes, and patient instructions.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with UAE healthcare regulations.

Equipment Management

  • Inspect treatment equipment before use.
  • Report malfunctioning equipment immediately.
  • Ensure routine maintenance schedules are followed.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of treatment rooms.

Regulatory Compliance

  • Practice only within the approved scope of practice.
  • Follow DHA, SHA, and MOHAP regulations and facility policies.
  • Obtain and document informed consent when required.
  • Protect patient privacy and confidentiality.
  • Participate in mandatory training, competency assessments, and continuing professional development (CPD).

Qualifications

  • Diploma or Certificate in Beauty Therapy or Aesthetics from a recognized institution.
  • Valid DHA or SHA Beauty Therapist License or Eligibility (as applicable).
  • Minimum one (1) year of relevant beauty therapy experience (preferred in a medical or aesthetic setting).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is preferred or required according to facility policy.
