The BAS Technician - Projects plays a critical role in the installation, programming, and commissioning of Building Automation Systems (BAS). This position is responsible for configuring and troubleshooting systems, integrating third-party equipment, and ensuring optimal system performance.
The ideal candidate will have experience with Tridium Niagara (N4), Honeywell WEBS, Schneider, and JCI FX BAS platforms, working under the supervision of senior technicians and project managers to execute automation projects successfully.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Building Automation Systems and Software
Assist in programming and configuring BAS software for HVAC and mechanical systems.
Create and modify system graphics to meet project specifications.
Integrate BAS with third-party systems using standard communication protocols.
Perform system tests and simulations to verify proper operation and functionality.
Troubleshoot network connections, controllers, sensors, and peripheral devices.
Support the installation and verification of electrical and electronic components related to the BAS.
Commissioning BAS Systems
Participate in system commissioning by validating performance and troubleshooting issues.
Complete commissioning checklists and documentation as required.
Best Practice and Knowledge Maintenance
Develop a strong understanding of HVAC and mechanical systems to support control strategies.
Documentation and Reporting
Assist in preparing project documentation, reports, and system configurations as required by project managers.
Support to Junior Team Members
Work alongside senior technicians to gain hands-on experience and technical expertise.
Provide technical assistance to field teams and contractors during project execution.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
Minimum 3+ years of experience in BAS installation, programming, or commissioning.
Certified in Tridium Niagara AX – N4 (or willingness to obtain certification).
Knowledge of HVAC control strategies and mechanical system operations.
Experience working with BAS systems such as Honeywell WEBS, Schneider, and JCI FX.
Familiarity with network wiring standards, communication protocols, and system integration.
Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work independently on assigned tasks.
