Position Summary
The Banquet Server is responsible for providing professional and attentive food and beverage service during banquets, weddings, meetings, conferences, and other special events. The Banquet Server ensures guests receive excellent service while maintaining a clean, organized, and welcoming event environment.
Essential Responsibilities
- Set up banquet rooms, tables, chairs, linens, china, glassware, and silverware according to event specifications.
- Serve food and beverages in a professional and timely manner.
- Follow proper service standards for plated dinners, buffets, receptions, and other banquet functions.
- Assist with wine and beverage service, including refilling glasses and clearing tables.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the event.
- Clear and reset tables as needed.
- Assist with event breakdown and storage of banquet equipment after functions.
- Communicate effectively with guests, supervisors, kitchen staff, and other team members.
- Respond to guest requests and provide courteous, professional service.
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
- Previous banquet, restaurant, hotel, or hospitality experience preferred.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment.
- Professional appearance and positive attitude.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and carry banquet equipment, food trays, and supplies.
- Must be reliable, punctual, and able to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Physical Requirements
- The position requires frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, carrying, and moving equipment. Ability to lift approximately 25–50 lbs. as needed.
