The Role

  • We are seeking an experienced Banking Relationship Manager to develop, manage, and grow relationships with retail, commercial, or corporate banking clients.
  • The ideal candidate will identify financial needs, deliver tailored banking solutions, drive portfolio growth, and ensure exceptional customer service while maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement relationship management strategies to acquire, retain, and grow customer portfolios aligned with business objectives.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients by understanding their financial goals and providing tailored banking solutions.
  • Promote banking products and services, including loans, deposits, trade finance, treasury solutions, cash management, investments, and other financial products.
  • Collaborate with Credit, Risk, Operations, Compliance, Treasury, Wealth Management, Product, and Executive Leadership to deliver comprehensive financial solutions.
  • Identify cross selling and upselling opportunities to increase customer value, portfolio profitability, and long term client engagement.
  • Conduct financial needs assessments, portfolio reviews, credit discussions, and business development activities.
  • Monitor portfolio performance, customer satisfaction, revenue growth, asset quality, and relationship profitability using key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Prepare credit proposals, financial analyses, relationship reviews, business cases, and account plans to support lending and investment decisions.
  • Ensure compliance with banking regulations, anti money laundering (AML), know your customer (KYC), sanctions requirements, and internal risk management policies.
  • Manage customer inquiries, service requests, escalations, and issue resolution while maintaining high service standards.
  • Leverage CRM platforms, core banking systems, Microsoft Office Suite, Power BI, and analytics tools to manage client relationships and performance reporting.
  • Prepare portfolio reports, sales forecasts, pipeline updates, and executive presentations for senior leadership.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Banking, Business Administration, Economics, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Master's degree or professional certifications such as CFA, CPA, ACCA, CIB, CAMS, or equivalent are advantageous.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in relationship management, corporate banking, commercial banking, retail banking, wealth management, or financial services.
  • At least 2 years of experience managing customer portfolios, business development initiatives, or banking relationships preferred.
  • Strong understanding of banking products, lending principles, credit analysis, financial statement analysis, customer relationship management, and regulatory compliance.
  • Experience with core banking systems, CRM platforms, Microsoft Office Suite, Power BI, and financial analysis tools.
  • Knowledge of AML, KYC, sanctions compliance, risk management, and UAE banking regulations is advantageous.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, relationship building, analytical, sales, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple client relationships while balancing customer satisfaction, profitability, regulatory compliance, and business growth.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively in remote and hybrid environments where business needs permit.
