- Prepare breads and pastries, including dough and filling preparation, testing, baking, and decorating
- Examine the Production sheet to understand the various baked goods to be produced daily
- Prepare and cook food according to recipes, quality and presentation standards, and food preparation checklist
- Maintain kitchen records to comply with food safety program
- Inform the head chef about excess food products for daily special planning
- Safely and properly use tools, equipment, and appliances for measuring and baking
- Follow and ensure compliance with food handling safety policies and personal hygiene procedures
- Check and ensure correct temperature of kitchen appliances and food, reporting any issues to management
- Monitor quality of food prepared and portions served throughout the shift
- Assist management in hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, motivating, and coaching employees; serve as a role model
Requirements
- Technical, trade, or vocational school diploma
- At least 2 years of related work experience
- No supervisory experience required
