Job Overview
- Prepare breads and pastries, including dough and filling preparation, testing, baking, and decorating.
- Examine production sheet to understand daily baked goods requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook food according to recipes, quality standards, and food prep checklist.
- Maintain kitchen records for food safety program.
- Inform chef of excess food items for daily specials planning.
- Use tools, equipment, and appliances safely and properly.
- Follow and ensure compliance with food handling safety policies and personal hygiene procedures.
- Check and ensure correct temperature of kitchen appliances and food; report issues.
- Monitor food quality and portion sizes throughout shift.
- Assist management with hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, motivating, and coaching employees.
- Comply with all company policies and procedures including safety; report accidents and unsafe conditions.
- Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional; maintain confidentiality.
- Speak clearly and professionally; answer phones using proper protocol.
- Cultivate positive working relationships; support team to achieve common goals.
Desired Qualifications
- Education: Technical, trade, or vocational school diploma.
- Related work experience: At least 2 years.
- Supervisory experience: None required.
- License or certification: None.
