About the Role
Build highly scalable and reliable production infrastructure for AI model-serving systems.
Most backend infrastructure is written in Rust; familiarity with C++, Rust, or Go is beneficial.
Responsibilities
- Build the xAI API that serves models to developers worldwide.
- Own high-throughput inference infrastructure handling billions of tokens per minute with low latency and high availability.
- Work across model serving, request routing, SDK development, rate limiting, observability, and efficient scaling.
Basic Qualifications
- Expert knowledge of either Rust or C++.
- Experience designing, implementing, and maintaining reliable, horizontally scalable distributed systems.
- Knowledge of service observability and reliability best practices.
