JT4, LLC provides engineering and technical support to multiple western test ranges for the U.S. Air Force, Space Force, and Navy under the Joint Range Technical Services Contract, better known as J-Tech II. JT4 develops and maintains realistic, integrated test and training environments and prepares our nation's war-fighting aircraft, weapons systems, and aircrews for today's missions and tomorrow's global challenges.
JOB SUMMARY - ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES
An Avionics Field Engineer III is responsible for a variety of fundamental Field Engineering tasks involved with the “hands-on” support, repair, and modification of specialty avionics systems, to include system/sub-system integration, and T&E development projects for Department of War (DoW) manned and unmanned platforms.
Employee will be responsible for the following functions/duties:
Provide expert knowledge on Radio Frequency (RF) and RADAR principles
Working knowledge of tactical communications/datalink systems, specialized avionics, and system sustainment tasks
Operate common and complex test instruments: digital multi-meters, signal generators, oscilloscopes, high frequency pulse generators, frequency synthesizers, distortion analyzers, and complex computer control equipment
Demonstrate expertise of basic and fundamental electronics principles and applications
Perform maintenance and test of various technical systems in accordance with established operating procedures to ensure safety of flight
Implement test and troubleshooting processes
Develop, maintain, and produce technical documentation
Suggest improvements to processes and procedures to obtain efficiencies
Performs other duties as assigned or required
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
An Associate's degree or high school diploma with relevant military and/or vocational technical school curriculum in a relevant career field.
Avionics operations with 5 years of military aircraft related experience.

Highly motivated technician with experience maintaining aircraft avionics systems.
Experience and expertise in: RADAR, ECM, Power distribution, Avionics Software, and aircraft wiring standards.
Experience and expertise with test equipment: Signal generator, Spectrum Analyzer, Power Meter, Signal Analyzer, Oscilloscope, and Multimeter use.
Knowledge of and ability to understand OEM Wiring Diagrams and schematics.
Experience in inspection, repair, and operation of ground support and auxiliary equipment.
Ability to understand and adhere to FAA, AFOSH, OSHA, and/or USAF equivalent aviation maintenance standards.
Current TS Clearance.
REQUIREMENTS - EDUCATION, TECHNICAL, AND WORK EXPERIENCE
An associate's degree in engineering or other technical discipline, or formal academic/vocational/military training and a minimum of 10 years of experience in the specialty field are required for this position.
In addition, a Field Engineer III must possess the following qualifications:
Broad knowledge of concepts, principles, and practices of engineering that enable senior technical contributor-level performance on complex projects or programs
Knowledge and skill sufficient to apply developments in engineering to solve problems in the specialty area
Working knowledge of computer systems and integrated software application programs
Ability to investigate, troubleshoot, and design solutions to problems in operational hardware and software
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Planning/organizational skills

WORKING CONDITIONS
Work is performed in a typical office environment with no unusual hazards. Occasional lifting (up to 20 pounds), constant sitting and use of a computer terminal; constant use of sight abilities while writing, reviewing, and editing documents; constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication; and constant mental alertness are required.
Travel to remote company work locations may be required.
