Autonomous Driving Software Lead Engineer - Motion Planning (PA, Pittsburgh)

Tackle the challenge of autonomous drive through innovative software stacks that interface with all components of the automated driving vehicles

Lead the design and development of motion planning algorithm for autonomous driving systems

Implement the prototype motion planning algorithms in an autonomous vehicle for on-road and simulation tests

Collaborate with the larger team of AD engineers, gaining exposure to multiple engineering disciplines and several projects simultaneously throughout the development lifecycle

Master?s degree or higher in Robotics, ECE, Computer Science or relevant field.

2+ years of professional experience in an Autonomous driving related role.

C++ or Python development experience in a Unix/Linux environment.

Experience with motion planning algorithm development.

Understanding of search-based planning algorithm (A*, D*) and sample-based planning algorithms (RRT, RRT*, etc.).

Understanding and ability to use optimization algorithms for motion planning (MPC, iLQR, DDP).

Familiar with vehicle kinematics or dynamics.

Independent algorithm development and simulation to verify the results.

Basic understanding of robotics algorithms (localization, perception, planning and control).'

Basic understanding of robotics system including sensors, actuators, mechanical and software system.

Experience in using version control software.
