Job Overview
The role diagnoses, maintains, repairs, and troubleshoots electrical and electronic systems in heavy vehicles and construction equipment.
The equipment includes mobile cranes, trailers, boom loaders, wheel loaders, excavators, forklifts, telehandlers, trucks, and other heavy machinery.
The candidate should have hands-on experience with 12V and 24V vehicle electrical systems, wiring, sensors, control systems, and electrical diagnostics.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair electrical faults in heavy vehicles and equipment.
- Maintain electrical systems on cranes, trailers, loaders, excavators, forklifts, trucks, and similar equipment.
- Inspect and repair wiring harnesses, cables, connectors, terminals, switches, and electrical circuits.
- Repair batteries, alternators, starters, relays, fuses, and charging systems.
- Diagnose faults involving sensors, ECUs, control modules, and electronic control systems.
- Maintain lighting, warning lights, indicators, horns, alarms, and safety devices.
- Install and maintain work lights, reverse cameras, GPS, alarms, and emergency lighting.
- Perform scheduled preventive and corrective electrical maintenance.
- Use multimeters, diagnostic scanners, and other testing equipment.
- Read wiring diagrams, schematics, and equipment manuals.
- Attend breakdowns at workshop, site, or project locations when required.
- Maintain repair records and follow HSE, PPE, LOTO, site safety, and manufacturer requirements.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience as an Auto Electrician or Heavy Equipment Electrician.
- Hands-on experience with heavy equipment, construction machinery, or heavy vehicles.
- Experience with cranes, trailers, loaders, excavators, forklifts, telehandlers, and trucks is preferred.
- Good knowledge of 12V and 24V electrical systems and electrical fault finding.
- Ability to read electrical wiring diagrams and technical manuals.
- Experience using multimeters and electrical diagnostic tools.
- Knowledge of ECU, CAN-bus, and electronic control systems is an advantage.
- Basic vehicle air-conditioning electrical knowledge is preferred.
- An ITI, diploma, or technical certificate in a related electrical field is preferred.
- UAE or GCC experience is an advantage.

- Work is performed in person, including at workshops, sites, or project locations when required.
