About the Role
QatarEnergy LNG is seeking an Audit Specialist to lead and execute complex internal audits, evaluating internal controls and compliance. The role requires 10 years of experience in oil & gas internal audit, including 3 years in supervisory roles.

Responsibilities
- Lead, plan and execute complex internal audits to evaluate adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls
- Report significant changes identified during audit process to Head of Audit
- Contribute to development and update of risk assessment and audit plans
- Plan complex audits by analyzing business processes and preparing risk assessments
- Conduct complex audit fieldwork by coordinating audit teams and testing controls
- Prepare internal audit reports, audit plans, progress reports
- Conduct follow up of prior audit observations to ensure agreed actions are implemented
- Train and develop auditors on the job
- Support Shareholder’s audits and external audits coordinated through IAD
- Conduct special reviews under supervision of Head or Audit Specialist
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/ Business Administration/ Engineering or equivalent
- 10 years relevant experience in oil & gas industry in internal audit/compliance/risk management or inspections
- 3 years in middle management / supervisory roles
- Good knowledge of oil & gas / LNG business, key processes, risks, and controls
- Good awareness of corporate governance and risk management processes

Job Purpose
- Leads, plans and executes complex internal audits to evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls, accuracy of information reported and compliance with policies and procedures.
Job Context & Major Challenge(s)
- Audit work is carried out in a wide and diverse range of environments, often in areas where the auditor has limited prior knowledge.
- The nature of audit work requires auditors to objectively evaluate business performance, controls and processes.
- Audit observations are frequently made in the face of management resistance.
- Audit reports go to senior management and shareholders and have high profile exposure.
Key Job Accountabilities
- Report any significant changes identified during the audit process to HoA.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/ Business Administration/ Engineering or equivalent
Knowledge and/or Experience
- 10 years relevant experience in the oil & gas industry in internal audit/compliance/risk management or inspections or testing roles including 3 years in middle management / supervisory roles.
- Good knowledge of the oil & gas / LNG business, specifically key processes, key risks, and key controls.
- Good awareness of corporate governance and risk management processes.
