Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Audio Visual Technician role based in Dubai.
The Audio Visual Technician is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining AV equipment for classrooms, lecture halls, meetings, and events.
Daily tasks include installing and configuring projectors, displays, sound systems, microphones, and control panels, as well as performing routine checks to ensure all systems are functioning properly.
The role involves supporting live sessions and video conferences, responding to service requests, and troubleshooting technical issues quickly to minimize disruption to teaching and learning.
The technician will coordinate with faculty, staff, and event organizers to understand requirements, provide technical guidance, and ensure a smooth AV experience.
The role may also include documenting setups, maintaining inventory, and assisting with upgrades, preventive maintenance, and basic user training on AV systems.
Qualifications
- Strong proficiency with Audio Visual (AV) Systems, including setup, configuration, and basic integration with classroom and meeting room technologies.
- Proven ability in Troubleshooting AV issues, diagnosing faults, and resolving problems under time constraints.
- Hands-on experience with Video Conferencing platforms and hardware used for virtual and hybrid classes or meetings.
- Practical knowledge of Lighting and Projectors, including installation, alignment, focusing, and routine maintenance.
- Familiarity with basic networking concepts as they relate to AV over IP, control systems, and room connectivity is an advantage.
- Ability to communicate clearly with non-technical users, provide user support, and deliver simple operational guidance or training.
- Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple requests while maintaining a high standard of service.
- Previous experience in an educational, events, or corporate AV environment is preferred.
- Relevant technical certification or diploma in AV technology, electronics, or a related field is beneficial.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings or weekends, based on academic and event schedules.
