Position Summary

Audio Assistant will help Athey Creek’s staff and volunteer Production Team provide highest quality audio operations for church services, live and published events.

This individual will ensure all stage setup and audio systems are prepared in advance, and live operations are performed with excellence.

They will assist with all aspects of the Front of House department, including audio, lighting, and media.

Additionally, they will perform regular maintenance and suggest system/process improvements.

Audio Assistant will understand advanced operation of audio mixing positions, train others on a regular basis, and work in live mixing, broadcast mixing and producer roles under the direction of the Production Manager.

Required Expe­ri­ence & Knowledge

  • Pro­fi­cient in audio mix­ing and main­te­nance of rel­e­vant pro­fes­sion­al pro­duc­tion equip­ment: DiGi­Co con­soles, Shure sys­tems, Shure Axient, Sennheis­er, Klang, Aviom, Waves Super­rack, Avid Pro Tools, Optocore
  • Exhib­it skill to think quick­ly and react/​troubleshoot calm­ly and effec­tive­ly in high-stress situations

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Serve as Front of House mix engi­neer, Broad­cast mix engi­neer, or Pro­duc­er for live ser­vices and spe­cial events
  • Run line checks, lead sound checks, mix for rehearsals, and per­form vir­tu­al soundchecks
  • Assist in stage set­up, patch­ing, and strike for all sched­uled events
  • Resolve tech­ni­cal or prac­ti­cal issues
  • Pro­mote vol­un­teer team engage­ment as Train­er and Point of Contact
  • Edit and export Wor­ship Team record­ings; assist in edit­ing teach­ing audio as necessary
  • Assist with spe­cial event stag­ing, rental, pow­er, and oth­er set-up needs
  • Assist in oper­a­tion of all sanc­tu­ary and foy­er light­ing, lyrics, and media
  • Assist in man­ag­ing all audio-visu­al assets includ­ing, but not lim­it­ed to, instru­ments, speak­ers, amps, mics, cables, sound boards, audio record­ing equip­ment, lights, mon­i­tors, relat­ed elec­tri­cal pan­els, sound booth, and stage seating
  • Fulfill all Production duties through temporary or extended assignment to any Athey Creek campus location, helping provide, strengthen, and sustain production systems, volunteer culture, service excellence, and special event support as-needed
  • Engage as part of a team with Athey staff, always being edi­fy­ing to one another
  • All oth­er tasks as assigned
