Position Overview
- Entry level management position responsible for the daily operations of restaurants/bars and room service.
- Assists in menu planning, maintains sanitation standards, assists servers and hosts during peak meal periods, and supervises restaurant/bar and room service departments as applicable.
- Ensures guest and employee satisfaction while maintaining operating budgets and compliance with standards and legal obligations.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or GED; 4 years of food and beverage, kitchen, or related professional experience.
- OR Associate's degree in Food Service Management, Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related major; 2 years of food and beverage, kitchen, or related professional experience.
Core Work Activities
- Handle employee issues and concerns.
- Supervise staff and ensure performance expectations are met.
- Provide feedback to employees based on observation of service behaviors.
- Assist with daily shift operations.
- Supervise restaurant and all related areas in absence of the Restaurant Director or Restaurant Manager.
- Attend department meetings and communicate clear and consistent information regarding departmental goals.
- Ensure all employees have proper supplies, equipment, and uniforms.
- Communicate any issues regarding food quality and service levels to chefs and restaurant managers.
- Ensure compliance with all restaurant policies, standards, and procedures.
- Supervise alcoholic beverage service in accordance with local laws.
- Strive to meet or exceed budget goals.
- Perform all duties of restaurant employees and related departments as necessary.
