Grant Science Writer, Assistant Professor (in residence) University of Connecticut School of Medicine
A position for an Assistant Professor in residence is open for a science writer that will be intimately involved with enhancement with scientific activities within the UConn Health School of Medicine.
The main duty of this position is to provide scientific prose, editing, illustrations, and suggestion in the flow and construction of grant proposals, scientific papers and some effort in education.
This effort will be vital to the advancing momentum of the School of Medicine's growing grant portfolio.
There will also be a strong commitment in enhancing research article preparation, assembly of research data and teaching materials for presentations, and also aiding in scientific planning as deemed by research leadership.
These science enhancing activities may require work on off hours that include nights and weekends as grant deadlines approach.
Job responsibilities:
Minimum requirements are Ph.D. or doctorate degree with at least one year of full-time employment in an academic research setting.
Proven data and schematic illustration capabilities are a must.
Candidate must have excellent communication skills and possess the ability to work both collaboratively amongst various teams and investigators.
The ideal candidate must be able to achieve goals independently, must have a wide breadth of experience in various fields of biomedical sciences, and produce quality work within tight deadlines.
